CoreIMS™ links up with Crystal Reports Business Objects™ technology for report functionality. All reports generated from CoreIMS™ are Crystal Reports. The Crystal Reports 2008 runtime redistributable package is installed as part of every CoreIMS™ installation. This allows each report to be treated as a discrete unit that is presented in the Business Objects™ Report Viewer when selected from CoreIMS™. From the Report Viewer users may display the report by page or group and use zoom and search features to focus on specific sections of interest. Print and export options are also available, with locally defined printers associated with the print function and report export selectable in a variety of formats – including Word, Excel, and portable document format (pdf).
CoreIMS™ is delivered with over 40 embedded Crystal Reports that display information covering a wide range of expected inventory management operations. This includes documents such as the bill of lading, packing list, putaway ticket, receipts, and various shipping and receiving order summaries. Inventory detail and summary reports are available by item, location, and category as well as a number of other groupings.
In addition to the standard reports delivered with CoreIMS™ customers are invited to use Crystal Reports (*purchased and installed separately) to develop their own reports in house to extract and display information from CoreIMS™ data that is specific to the needs of their particular operations. Once the needed report files are developed using Crystal Reports, it is a simple matter to set up the reports for presentation in the Business Objects™ Report Viewer directly from the CoreIMS™ user interface.
